4 families set out on a weekend adventure into the high country of Mt Ida
Not sure, who was more excited, the Dads or the kids. For sure it is a big adventure coming up the remote tracks and mountains in Central Otago. Nine children and seven adults were up on their way to Ida Railway Hut, nestled on top of Mt Buster. After heavy rain in the morning, we had a sunny day while driving up and a night full of stars, or under the stars, at the hut. The nearby stream and hills were the perfect playground for kids all ages. We definitely want to come back for some more river crossings and outdoor fun.
